Your correct, the buttons are static and do not function. This airplane is the IRIS T-6 given to use by Iris simulations. It does not have the Default FSX GPS referenced. If you have a flight plan selected your T-6 GPS will display nav information. TRACOM is about learning and navigating your airframe. Much of what you will be doing is manually flying your aircraft. All problems should be addressed through your chain of command though so this is a one-time thing. 1) The T-6 doesn't have a GPS and you shouldn't need one. All the flights are NAV exercises using standard radio navigation and the GPS is not permitted. 2) Yes, I recall that the NSE TACAN didn't have a VOR readout in the provided scenery.
